Beginner Youth Ride

When: Tuesday April 2nd from 4:00pm-5:30pm

Where: Bert Flinn Park, Port Moody (meet at the yellow gate by traffic circle: https://torca.ca/locations/bert-flinn-park-yellow-gate/)

Who: Beginner level riders 9-12 years old.

Beginner level riders are comfortable riding off road on green/blue level trails at Bert Flinn Park. Comfortable on straight/bumpy trail. Getting comfortable riding bridges, rolls and root sections. Trails could include: Jo Jo Flinn’s, Mama Bear, the Fin-nish Line.

Registration: Registration is required.  Total group size will be limited to 8 riders (plus lead and sweep). A TORCA Liability Waiver will be required for insurance purposes and it needs to be completed at time of registration.  TORCA Membership can also be purchased during registration (but is not mandatory).

Bring: Mountain bike in good working condition (minimum front suspension recommended), comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, multi-tool, mini-pump, spare tube that fits your bike, tire levers, snack, water and a mask. Rider should be able to carry all of these items with them on the ride (we may not be returning to start/finish location until the end). If access to any of these items is an issue, please let us know and we will see what we can do to help!

Prior to the ride, please ensure that your childs mountain bike is in good working order.

Check list:

• Front and back brakes work
• Gears can shift
• Tires are pumped
• All parts are secure (ie. pedals, stem, bottle cages)

If you have any questions or concerns, bring the bike to one of the great local bike shops in the Tri-Cities for a tune up!

Provided: Guided group rides.  Two ride leads will be present for each session (at least one will have first aid training).
